Bio: Patrick Rochefort is a professional writer with a background in occupational health and safety and education.
In his scant spare time, he takes breaks from writing training programs to write speculative fiction, science fiction, and fantasy. He finds his work inspired by grotesque and beautiful questions of “What if?”, and writes about the futures he hopes his children will live to see, or about the futures he hopes they’ll never have to witness. He writes erotic fiction centered around happily flawed people and their happily flawed hearts.
As a professional technical writer, he bristles at the “Genre Ghetto” expectation of good work being underpaid or unpaid; and advocates on behalf of fellow authors for fair, industry-standard pay.
Patrick Rochefort finds tremendous inspiration drawn from modern “bleeding edge” science-fiction authors, like Peter Watts, Paolo Bacigalupi, and Cory Doctorow, and other fearlessly bleak writers unafraid to make characters suffer for the sake of a good story.
